One of Westridge School’s beloved traditions is the fall Yam Festival, where parents bring in all kinds of savory and sweet foods with yams as the featured ingredient.
Students go from booth to booth at lunchtime, picking up samples of as many items as they want to try. The favorite items are always the yam latkes and sweet potato fries, but this year there was stiff competition from yam waffles, donuts, pie, bread, cookies, muffins, cheesecake, hash, kugel, pasta, salad, casserole, chili, grits, mochi, pancakes and chips.
