First published in the Dec. 1 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

The National Christ Child Society, one of the nation’s oldest organizations dedicated to serving the needs of under-resourced children, has announced the appointment of Becky Sarni of Pasadena to its National Board of Directors as a vice president for the 2022-24 term.
The new slate of officers was made official at the NCCS National Convention in Tucson, Arizona, earlier this year.
“We are thrilled to have Becky Sarni on our leadership team,” said Molly Fanning, immediate past president of the Society, in a press release. “In her nearly 20 years as an active member and a national board member since 2019, Becky has had so much to share, both personally and professionally.
“We are fortunate to have her positive energy, expertise and experience to help guide our organization,” Fanning continued. “Becky’s contributions will help us provide resources to aid children and families in 45 unique communities across the U.S. and help us to grow and thrive as a 135-year-old organization.”
Sarni is chair of the national board’s Development Committee, and serves on the Education, Membership & Expansion, and Conference/Convention Committees. The not-for-profit organization was established in the Washington, D.C., area, and has expanded nationwide to respond to local communities’ needs.
As a member of the Pasadena Chapter of Christ Child Society since 2003, Sarni has held multiple positions including Service Programs co-chair, provisional co-chair, treasurer, president elect/vice president of programs, president, past president/nominating chair and National Day of Service chair. She has also made a difference in the Pasadena community as a volunteer with many other local organizations.
Sarni, who holds a bachelor’s in environmental health and safety studies, worked for several years in the hazardous materials consulting arena before retiring to focus on family.
