Foothill Unity Center and Universal Bank recently announced its partnership to create a Foothill Unity Center checking account at all of the bank’s five locations to benefit the Foothill Unity Center’s capital campaign.
The capital campaign began in 2016 with the goal of raising $6.2 million toward the purchase of a new building in Monrovia. To date, the Center has raised a total of $5.4 million towards their $6.2 million dollar goal.
Foothill Unity Center is honored and excited to partner with Universal Bank in creating a Foothill Unity Center checking account. Universal Bank will match the interest accumulated yearly by customers opening new Foothill Unity Center checking accounts. The program is available at all Universal bank locations in the following cities: Arcadia, Rosemead, West Covina, Monterey Park and the Los Angeles branch.

Foothill Unity Center is a place of real hope and possibilities for people in crisis throughout the San Gabriel Valley offering programs that focus on food, health, job development, crisis management, homelessness and voluntarism.
Foothill Unity Center was founded in 1980 as an emergency food pantry, operating out of a church closet in Monrovia, to assist the low-income, disadvantaged and underserved. Foothill Unity Center’s target population is the Foothills portion of SPA 3, which includes Altadena, Arcadia, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bradbury, Duarte, Irwindale, Monrovia, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena and Temple City.
