First published in the June 30 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

Families Forward Learning Center recently announced Ashley Thompson as its new education director.
Thompson has worked in early childhood education for 15 years as a program coach, preschool administrator and ECE educator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Northridge, and a master’s in early childhood education from Pacific Oaks College. Thompson, a Pasadena native, was most recently employed at Child360 as a program coach and network consultant.
“Ashley was attracted to our two-generation learning approach to serving our families,” said Elva Sandoval, executive director. “We are excited to have her join our team.”
“Becoming an education director is my dream job,” Thompson said. “I am looking forward to bringing my enthusiasm and experience to the dedicated team of teachers at Families Forward.”
Families Forward Learning Center’s mission is to prepare families living in isolation and poverty to succeed in school and in life.
Families Forward has provided free education and social services to low-income families in Pasadena and Altadena for 60 years.
