First published in the May 19 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

More than 1,200 supporters came together on Saturday, April 30, for Walk for Kids 2022 at the Rose Bowl in support of Ronald McDonald House Pasadena and Ronald McDonald Charities of Southern California.
As the largest community fundraiser across the RMHCSC programs, funds raised for Walk for Kids will keep families with hospitalized children together and near the comfort, care and critical resources they need.
Ronald McDonald House Pasadena raised more than $95,000 to benefit the hundreds of families who stay at the House every year and create a community for children and their families to embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy.
“It was incredible to see our community members join together to support families with critically ill children and help healing happen,” said Executive Director Mara Leong-Maguinez. “This event would not be possible without the support of our sponsors, donors, volunteers and so many generous advocates in the community.”
Attendees enjoyed music, entertainment and a leisurely stroll around the Rose Bowl. Walk for Kids also featured Walkers Village with giveaways, arts and crafts, food trucks and interactive games for children.
Contributing to the success of the event were RMHCSC regional sponsors McDonald’s, Coca Cola and Aspire Bakeries, which provided snacks and giveaways to the walkers.
The event was emceed by radio personality Donaji Esparza and attended by the L.A. Kings and L.A. Rams street teams.
Ronald McDonald House Pasadena is a program of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California.
