After claiming a bronze medal in last year’s CIF Southern Section diving championships, Elena Yeh closed out her Maranatha High School career as a champion by winning the Division 2 diving crown at the Marguerite Aquatics Complex in Mission Viejo on April 28.
Elena Yeh posted a winning score of 498.85 to edge Oliva Paquette of Dana Hills High School (who finished with 489.60) and Zara Ayazi of Crescenta Valley (487.95).
Maranatha freshman Armina Li also competed in the 1-meter diving championship and turned in a solid performance with a score of 433.45.
Mayfield Senior’s Morgan Burns, a freshman, also participated in the Division 2 final and placed 16th with a score of 376.25.
