PCC Student Talks New Venture, Scholarships

First published in the April 7 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

This past fall, Alina Alejo, a business major at Pasadena City College, was awarded the Robert Westerbeck Scholarship for the third year in a row.
“I feel so honored,” she said. “It’s really nice to see that my academic and personal pursuits have paid off.”
Alejo, who plans to transfer to USC’s Marshall School of Business this coming fall, launched a candle-making business last year called High Priestess Art and said it’s only been possible because of PCC.
“PCC and the foundation have really helped me out during my academic journey,” she said. “Scholarships have helped so many people stay in school and finish their degree, and I never want to take these awards for granted.”
For more information, visit Alejo’s website, highpriestessart.square.site or follow her at instagram.com/highpriestess.art.
