Jericho Road Hires New Executive Director

First published in the April 7 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

Jericho Road Pasadena is pleased to announce the selection of Kim Olpin as the organization’s new executive director.
JRP’s former executive director, Melanie Goodyear, left the organization earlier in March after 12 years at the helm. JRP selected Olpin following a four-month search conducted by a team of staff and board members.
Goodyear was hired by a steering committee in 2010 to launch JRP as a pilot program. Since then, JRP has provided more than 23,000 hours of free consulting services worth $2.1 million to local nonprofits. JRP anticipates that Olpin will leverage these achievements to help the organization continue to promote community development, strengthen social services and enrich the lives of volunteers.
“Melanie’s vision and leadership will be greatly missed by volunteers, the board and nonprofit partners alike,” said board chair Janet McIntyre. “We wish her the best of luck in her next chapter, and appreciate her many contributions to Jericho Road.”
“We are very excited to have Kim take on the role of executive director of Jericho Road,” McIntyre added. “Kim is a dynamic leader who is dedicated to working with nonprofit organizations to empower staff, strategize and effectively manage volunteers. The board and staff were impressed with her commitment to diversity, partnerships with corporations and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.”
Olpin brings 15 years of nonprofit experience to JRP. Most recently, she was the vice president of corporate engagement for L.A. Works, where she directed and managed the corporate partnerships of the 50,000-member nonprofit volunteer action center focusing on impactful solutions in collaboration with community organizations. Prior to L.A. Works, she held development positions with organizations including the CLARE Foundation (now CLARE | MATRIX) and the National Audubon Society.
“I feel very privileged to be joining JPR, and thrilled to continue Ms. Goodyear’s great work,” said Olpin. “JRP is a great organization that has a special place in the local nonprofit community. I’m excited to lead JRP into its next decade of community development and volunteer engagement.”
“I have been honored to work with Pasadena’s rich nonprofit community and many talented volunteers,” said Goodyear. “Having built the organization from the ground up, I am excited to see Ms. Olpin expand JRP’s impact on local nonprofits, thereby creating a better community for all.”
