St. Francis Advances, Poly Falls in Quarterfinals

Sam Howell was one of 10 seniors who played their final game for Polytechnic last Friday. The Panthers fell to Quartz Hill, 41-34, in a Division XII quarterfinal and placed second in its first season competing in the Rio Hondo League.

St. Francis High School’s varsity football team dominated at Temecula Chaparral, winning the CIF-SS Division IV quarterfinal game 29-14 last Friday. No individual statistics were available.
The Golden Knights (9-2 overall record), who shared top Angelus League honors with L.A.’s Loyola High with 2-1 records, will host Whittier La Serna High (10-2 record) at Jim Bonds Stadium in the CIF semifinals this Friday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to the CIF divisional championship game the following weekend.

POLYTECHNIC

Poly’s varsity football team lost to Quartz Hill, 41-34, in the CIF-SS Division XII quarterfinal game on Friday, Nov. 12. No individual statistics were available.
The Panthers finished the season with a 7-4 overall record and placed second in the Rio Hondo League with a 4-1 record.
