The Hoving Home in Pasadena recently held its 13th annual Backyard BBQ fundraiser, whose attractions included a silent auction, music and delicious food from Smokin’ Steve’s Pit Barbecue. The event benefited the Walter Hoving Home, whose primary focus is a discipleship center serving women age 18 and older who have been involved in drug addiction, alcoholism and other life-controlling problems. The home is located in what was the historic Mira Monte Hotel and can provide care for 50 women.
