Erika Endrijonas, the new president of Pasadena City College, was greeted by leaders and other members of the San Marino community at a recent event at Southwestern Academy. The event was hosted by Ken and Winifred Veronda and PCC Trustee Linda S. Wah.
Extending a welcome, Southwestern Headmaster Ken Veronda shared the history of the academy, a long-standing institution in San Marino that was founded by his father and serves international and local students.
The reception was attended by more than 70 people from the community, including the San Marino Unified School District board and administration. Board chair Lisa Link spoke of past partnerships with PCC and the anticipation of future collaborations.
Endrijonas spoke of PCC’s accomplishments, including its strong transfer rates and recognition by the Aspen Institute as one of the nation’s top 10 community colleges. She committed to building community through an agenda including individual meetings with school superintendents and administrators.
