National Charity League of Pasadena’s class of 2021 recently presented the group’s annual Modelette fashion show. The girls were involved in every aspect of the show — invitation design, script writing, marketing, sign-ups and organizing, and as emcee, stage manager and models. This year they opted for a more contemporary location, choosing the Kosmic Krylon Garage at the former Museum of California Art, which is host to graffiti art from L.A. artist Kenny Scharf. The girls modeled clothes of their own choosing and contemporary fashions from YFB and On The Road.
The class of 2021 asked guests to bring donations to support Club 21, Huntington Hospital and the Pasadena Unified School District. The show opened with remarks from chapter President Me gan Foker, who announced, “The theme this year is ‘Confidence to Lead.’ During the NCL 10th-grade year, the focus is on the girls discovering their voice, gaining confidence in their strengths and qualities, and modeling this confidence in the way they present themselves to the world.”
