The ArtCenter 100 membership gathered recently for an evening to celebrate the success of the group and welcome new members. Since its inception 32 years ago, the ArtCenter 100 annual scholarship has provided close to $2 million in scholarships to ArtCenter students.
In June this year, ArtCenter 100 provided generous support to Sterling Wells, a student from ArtCenter’s Graduate Fine Art Department who has received the very prestigious Skowhegan Residency. Skowhegan accepts 65 artists from a pool of 2,000 applicants each year.
The event took place in the Hutto-Patterson Exhibition Hall on ArtCenter’s south campus, which features a diverse rotation of art, sculpture and mural exhibitions. The space is a jewel nestled in the home base for ArtCenter’s Fine Art and Illustration departments. Renovation of the former U.S. Postal Service property was made possible in part because of the generosity of the Hutto-Patterson Charitable Foundation.
