The Pasadena City College Foundation held another in its Hometown Legends series, titled “Eyes on the Universe: Pasadena’s Leadership in Astronomy Today.” The speaker was John Mulchaey, the director of Carnegie Observatories. Pasadena is world-renowned in the fields of astronomy, cosmology and astrophysics, and the Pasadena-based Carnegie Observatories have, through their large-telescope facilities in Chile, produced discoveries about galaxy formation, the evolution of stars, dark matter and more.
