DAR Regent Phyllis Lynes presents Alice Coulombe with the Community Service Award.

Martin Severance Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is actively celebrating Women’s History Month. At their March meeting, they honored Alice Coulombe with the prestigious DAR Community Service Award. This award is given to an individual who has significantly served the community as a volunteer.
Coulombe, who has been a volunteer for more than 40 years, has had an impact on the arts. In 1977, she organized Metropolitan Associates, a local nonprofit, which raised funds to support the arts for youth in our community. As if that were not enough, Coulombe served as president of the Music Center Opera League and is accredited with being one of the founders of the Los Angeles Opera. When the Ambassador Auditorium was threatened for demolition, Coulombe helped save it by bringing music events such as the Colburn School Orchestra and the Pasadena Youth Orchestra to perform.
