Pasadena Heritage Tour of Churches on Saturday

Pasadena Heritage will host a docent-guided tour of local churches this Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to noon, including interior stops at St. Andrew, First Baptist, All Saints, First Congregational, Fuller Theological, Pasadena Presbyterian, First United Methodist, and the First Church of Christ, Scientist.
“They are all impressive examples of the many inspiring sacred spaces that can be found in downtown Pasadena,” a Pasadena Heritage spokesperson said. “This guided walking tour will focus on the distinctive architecture and interior decorative devices that uplift the eyes and the spirit — carved ceiling beams, hand-painted murals, and richly stained glass motifs. Our previous church tours have been sellouts, and this one will offer the opportunity to enjoy work by leading regional architects designing inspired ecclesiastical buildings.”
Pasadena Heritage is a nonprofit organization dedicated to historic preservation in and around Pasadena. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2017, the organization advocates on behalf of historic resources, educates the public about local history and the benefits of preservation, and demonstrates quality restoration through a variety of programs and projects. Its 2,000-plus members are from Pasadena and neighboring communities.
Tickets for Saturday’s tour are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. For more information, visit pasadenaheritage.org.
